After the Holidays...

Hope everyone had a Happy Holiday last week. I had a great Christmas with my family and friends and Santa was very good to me so I can't complain. Now its time to get back to work after a 4 day mini-vacation *sadness*.

It's another short work week for me as I took off a couple of days for New Year's.

Terribly Cold Tuesday

I sound like Im whining about the winter weather in all my recent posts, but its seriously hard to find something fashioniable, comfortable and appropriate for commuting into work when the streets have yet to be plowed, which by the way totally amazes me. We can send a man to the moon but somehow snow hits and people dont know how to plow the streets on a timely basis. *sigh* In any event, I woke up to temps in the 15 degree range. All that was once snow has now turned to slush or ice. Yay fun! I decided to wear these slacks because they have an interior lining and it is very much appreciated. The rest of my outfit depended on comfort and warmth; long sleeves and flat shoes. Not inspiring in the slightest, but defintely very necessary.

My earrings are cute though! Are they enough to make me fashionable today?

So readers, I ask, what do you do to make your wardrobe fashionable yet winter weather/commuter friendly?

Monday

Talk about a sluggish trek back to work on Monday. The Northeast got hit with two storms this weekend; one Friday and another Saturday/Sunday. I only wish I were younger because all the schools are closed and there really is nothing better than a Snow Day.

I got cold at my desk so I threw on this cardigan.

Winter Storm Watch

No pics to post today because the NorthEast is prepping for the first storm of the season today. If you thought last week's "rainy" day outfit was bad, you don't want to see what I look like today. You just got to love New England. Even with all the bad winter weather, I wouldn't trade it in for anything...well almost anything, except maybe a slice of Europe (hehehe).

This is what we woke up to on the news today. It looks like I'm in for a wintery weekend.

Thursday

I love the fit and length of these slacks. I love wearing them so much, I tend not to wear them enough. I just dont want to ruin them. When I put this outfit together in my mind, the shoes and slacks looked better. Once I got to work and saw it all put together, I realized that next time I wear these slacks Im going to wear them with these shoes so that I can add a little boost of color or print to the classic slack. Plus for some reason, I think these slacks will look better with a closed toe as opposed to the peepers Im wearing today. You live and you learn right?

Monday

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I finished ALL of my Christmas shopping in a 24 hour span this weekend and I'm oh-so-proud of myself. Can I just tell you how much I love online shopping. I did 90% of my shopping online and when I actually did make it to the store, I quickly realized why the price of shipping is priceless when you think about being in crowded malls/stores.

It's an ugly, wet day here in Boston. Yuck! Thank goodness that my job is pretty lax about our dress code on bad weather days.

It's back to my favorite piece of clothing--The Dress. I found this sheath dress in my mom's closet. She has no idea I borrowed it and I hope to sneak it back in without her knowing as well ;)

Wednesday

I should've titled this entire week "BORING" because thats what this week's outfits have been thus far. Im sorry readers, but nothing seemed to inspire or jump out at me from the closet.

The temps today hit 60! Got to love New England weather, only here does it get to 60 in December. Like the saying in New England goes; "if you don't like the weather, wait a minute".

I love these flats and all the credit has to go to Missi over at Domestic Sophisticate. I saw these on her blog and could not get over how cute and trendy they were, so of course, I immediately went online to try to find a pair for myself.

Tuesday

As I was trying to decide what to wear this morning, I came to a horrible realization: I hardly own any sweaters. Some of you may think "big deal", but trust me the East Coast can get down right frigid in the winter and having a couple sweaters in my wardrobe would certainly help me stay warm. I think I only about 3 sweaters (true story). Note to self: buy some new sweaters, better yet--add them to my Christmas List. And yes, this is a repeat outfit (hey, it happens). But the lack of sweaters, really limited my options this morning.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Monday

I'm on to a new mascara from Sephora's Lash Stash Set. Today, I tried Sephora Brand Atomic Lash and I love the wand. It reminds me of the mascara wand from Cover Girl's Last Exact

Boy is it cold today!!! Brrrrr

Black Friday

Today is my job's childrens' holiday party, so I needed something comfortable to chase my nephew around in. I'm also go to see a performance of the Urban Nutcracker and I needed to wear something appropriate for both a comfortable afternoon but nice enough to catch a show in. I wore this outfit on Thanskgiving and the leggings allowed room for me to stuff my face. Ha!

Award!!

The fab girls over at Domestic Sophisticate gave me my VERY FISRT award!!! Thanks so much ladies. I've only been blogging for about two months and enjoy visiting all my favorite blogs and dishing about fashion. Domestic Sophisticate was one of the first blogs to make me feel a part of the blogging community.

I'd like to pass this award along to some of my favorite blogs! Thanks for inspiring me to start my own fashion blog and by wowing me daily with your wardrobe creations!

Back to Work

I hope everyone had a happy and full Thanksgiving. I slept in late, watched the National Dog Competition with my pug Atticus and BF with lots of napping in between before heading out for a late Thanksgiving Day dinner. What more could a gal ask for?
My camera broke (or rather I broke my camera) so the weekend pictures that I usually post (which I take with my camera) could not be taken. Therefore, no high school reunion pics or Thanskgiving pics.* sigh* The search for a new camera begins today, like there isn't already enough to do for the holidays.

I also did not try out a new mascara from Sephora's Lash Stash Set because I liked last week's Make Up Forever Smoky Lash so much, I decided to ride this one out a couple more days.

Today, I feel like a school girl in my jumper, tights and headband.
